6 Plays, 7 Nights + A Marathon
January 23 to 29, 2006 | Pavilion Theatre, Kamloops
Welcome to Suburban Motel, George F. Walker's hilarious and insightful series of one-act plays that are funny, real, and heartbreaking.
We've all stayed in one of those seedy, cheap motels at the edge of town, the kind of place that represents the last sign of civilization before disappearing into nowhere... The kind of place where people go to wait for something to happen. The kind of place where anything can happen...
Project X was thrilled to give four emerging directors the opportunity to visit one of these motels. It is part of our mandate to nurture and encourage other local artists, and the richness and depth of Walker's plays were the perfect way for these young directors to cut their teeth.
Suburban Motel featured the directing talents of: Melissa Thomas, Stewart Cawood, Derek Rein, Adrian Mancini and Dusan Magdolen, and the acting talents of: Kim Bennett, Chris Cooley, Claire Covington, Kaitlynn Dewhirst, Peter Evans, Chris Fofonoff, Andrew Foster, Lindsay Galbraith, Gisella Guzzo, Gayle Heinrich, Dusan Magdolen, Harmony Maher, Adrian Mancini, Brendan Methot, Jessica Pattinson, Derek Rein, Alex Ross, Melissa Thomas and Tara Zannella.
