This Friday, July 9, Project X Theatre is proud to participate in a Family Literacy event at Sahali Centre Mall!
Join the cast of one of this year’s X Fest productions, Munsch Ado About Nothing,
as they read stories by beloved Canadian children’s author Robert Munsch.
Family Literacy organizers will also be at Sahali Mall to tell parents about the range of programs they will offer in the fall, such as the Red Book Shelf for children to donate and pick up FREE books for themselves, and their monthly Family Literacy Nights at Sahali Mall and North Hills Shopping Centre, for families to read and learn together!
The TNRD Library, Children’s Division, will also be here with some of their new children’s books and information about their amazing fall book sale, their summer reading club for children, their Read-To-Me Program for younger children, and the Books for BC Babies program. Children’s books can be dropped off at the event for donation to the Red Shelf Program.
The event is from 2:00-3:00pm, and is free! Get your kids excited about reading!
Munsch Ado About Nothing is part of Project X Theatre’s X Fest 2011, running July 20-August 6 in Prince Charles Park, along with The Compleat Wrks of Wllm Shkspr (Abridged).

Project X is thrilled for the return of X Fest 2011, our 6th annual outdoor summer theatre festival, featuring two engaging comedies!
Compleat Wrks was first presented as part of X Fest 2008, and was a huge hit! Three not-so-accomplished actors attempt to perform the entire collection of the Bard’s plays in one fast-paced, hysterical evening! Compleat Wrks features local actors Dušan Magdolen (12th Night, A Midsummer Night’s Dream) and Kirk Smith (The Rocky Horror Show, Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead) and Vancouver actor Stefano Giulianetti, and will be directed by TRU theatre instructor Robin Nichol.

Munsch Ado also features three less than professional performers stuck without a show to perform when their human cannonball quits, their bear-wrestler disappears, and their lion gets sold to pay for the bear! However, thankfully, they have 5 stories by popular Canadian author Robert Munsch to entertain the crowd! Watch as they bring to life Murmel Murmel Murmel, More Pies, Class Clown, No Clean Clothes and Good Families Don’t in a way that will captivate kids and make their parents nostalgic for the classic stories about how to just be a kid. Munsch Ado features local actors Sheanna James (Hamlet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream) and Melissa Thomas (As You Like It, Hamlet) and Vancouver actor Evelyn Chew, and will be directed by Amy Baskin (Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead).
Tickets are $20 for adults, $17 for students and seniors, and $10 for kids under 12.
There is also a special Family Pass for Munsch Ado, $50 for a family of 4!
